Adopt A Dog

Adopt a Rescue Dog in Singapore

Give a pup a second chance at life and gain a loyal, loving companion through our adoption program. If you’re a dog lover, then choosing to adopt a rescue animal is one of the most rewarding pet-ownership experiences you will ever have. Despite (or perhaps because of) their histories of trauma, neglect and abuse, rescue dogs tend to flourish under the care of a loving, responsible owner and will repay your care with limitless love, affection and loyalty.

SOSD rescues stray and abandoned dogs off the streets of Singapore, bails out impounded dogs and works to find their forever homes through the dog adoption program. All our dogs are desexed, dewormed, vaccinated, vet checked and temperament tested, but they need your love and patience to help them become a well-adjusted household pet.

Things to think about before you decide to adopt

Owning an animal is a significant responsibility and one which needs to be properly thought through. Being a responsible pet owner means taking care of all the animal’s day-to-day needs, giving them lots of love, affection, and attention and making sure they receive proper veterinary care when they fall ill. You need to consider whether you have the time, space, energy and passion it takes to provide a pup with a forever home where they will be happy and healthy.

If you are keen on our Singapore dog adoption program, you can start your search for your fur baby by reading the dog and puppy profiles we have listed below. Each individual profile lists the animal’s name, sex and estimated age as well as a little bit about their temperament and idiosyncrasies. If you are interested in a particular dog, simply click on their profile and register your details. Alternatively, pay a visit to our Singapore shelter during our twice-monthly shelter tours and meet all the gorgeous pups who are just waiting to go home with you.

Pre-Adoption Briefing

Wondering if adopting a Singapore Special is for you? Many of our recent rescues are nervous, skittish and/or fearful with flight and bite risks. To help you understand them better, we conduct Pre-Adoption Briefing sessions every alternate week. We strongly encourage everyone who’s considering to adopt a Singapore Special to attend.
