Feed Our Jurong Island Dogs

Thank you for helping to feed our Jurong Island shelter and stray dogs for the first quarter of 2020! Because of you, we managed to hit our target and reach out to all the shelter AND stray doggos in Jurong Island (JI). We hope you can help us again, this April – June.

Other than vet fees, one of SOSD’s largest expense is on dog food. In our shelter at Sungei Tengah, we have an average of 80 dogs at any one time, and that uses up approximately 3 large bags of food PER DAY!

However, these are not the only dogs that we feed.

Together with Noah’s Ark Cares, SOSD runs a Trap-Neuter-Release-Manage programme on JI. With 200 dogs in our JI shelter, and another 150 strays that we feed, feeding the dogs on JI is quite a feat. Just for JI alone, SOSD needs to fork out an average of $4500 each month, even after huge discounts from suppliers.

Due to strict regulations on the island, members of the public are not allowed to feed the stray dogs. Thus, it falls back fully on our staff to go around the island to feed them on a daily basis, rain or shine.

We need your help to continue feeding these dogs, and to continue caring for all the dogs under SOSD’s care.

We hope to raise $15000, to cover the food cost incurred from April – June. Please donate if you can, and help us share the message with your friends and family. Thank you!
