Full-Time Shelter Manager/Officer

Responsibilities

  • Oversee/support the day-to-day operations of the shelter
  • Provide ongoing supervision, support and training for shelter staff and volunteers
  • Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all shelter dogs through proper nutrition, veterinary care and enrichment activities
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and a conducive environment in the premises
  • Manage administrative tasks such as record-keeping, inventory tracking and reporting
  • Adhere to SOSD training guidelines and philosophy “Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive” and advocate for reward-based training methods
  • Work closely with other departments where needed to support the work of the organization
  • Requirements:

  • Possess driver’s licence and own vehicle
  • Experience with Singapore Specials and shelter work
  • A passion for helping dogs and animal welfare
  • Good work ethics 
  • Ability to communicate well and work in a team
  • Relevant dog training certifications and qualifications is an added advantage
  • Willingness to learn and continue education
  • Willing to work on weekends where needed

    Jurong Island Project (JIP) Officer (Part-time & Full-time positions available!)

    Urgently seeking an independent, positive and self-motivated individual. Someone with a naturally positive disposition, fun, joyful and works with integrity.

    Commitment:

  • 1-2 years
  • Ideally possess own vehicle, or have a driving licence
  • Job Scope:

  • Taking care of the basic needs of 200 over dogs
  • Cleaning of shelters
  • Feeding the dogs in the shelter
  • Stray feeding the roaming dogs
  • Simple cooking of meat at home for the dogs (meat provided!)
  • Experience with stray dogs or Singapore Specials will be a bonus

    Intern With Us

    Get up-close and personal with our dogs, and see what goes on behind the scenes in the shelter on a daily basis!

    We are currently offering unpaid internship placements for responsible individuals who are able to fulfil the following requirement:

  • Minimum commitment of 3 months
  • 5 day work week
  • Able to work independently
  • Must be comfortable with menial tasks
  • Job Scope:

  • Administrative work
  • Assist in daily operational work at the shelter such as washing the kennels, feeding and medicating the dogs
