In a resounding show of community spirit, SOSD, a dedicated charity organisation committed to the welfare of Singapore’s street dogs, marked a triumphant Flag Day and adoption drive on Saturday, 2nd March, with the active participation of over 200 dedicated volunteers spanning the entire island across various locations, including Orchard, Marina Bay Sands, National Stadium, Toa Payoh, Esplanade, Bugis, Holland Village, Tanjong Pagar, and Singapore Expo.

The event, a cornerstone in SOSD’s mission to care for Singapore’s street dogs, known affectionately as Singapore Specials, was met with overwhelming support from the public. This year, the spotlight is on the ambitious plan to construct the new SOSD Rehabilitation Centre. The aim is to create a facility that not only accommodates more dogs but also provides specialised care and attention to those in need. The focus of the 2024 Flag Day was to raise funds dedicated to realising this vital project.

SOSD expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the enthusiastic volunteers, sponsors and partners – Guoco Tower, EZVIZ, The Pet Times Asia – and the generous public for their unwavering support. Your collective efforts have propelled SOSD one step closer to creating a brighter future for Singapore’s street dogs.
