Personality: Dusty is a handsome boy – even the girls at the shelter agree! He is very polite and charming to the female dogs but not quite the same to the male dogs. Dusty takes a while to warm up to unfamiliar people and new settings, it would definitely take lots of effort and patience to gain his trust. He came in as a very timid boy and would cower in a corner when people approached. It took our volunteers some time to finally gain his trust and get him to open up. That said, he has never once growled or mouth the volunteers who were trying to handle him. He would need a loving family who is willing to put in time and effort to draw him out. Once he trusts you, he will show his sweet and adoring side, and slowly gets attached to you. Together with Sail, his kennel mate, they even helped Athena, a long-time resident of Mdm Yap Shelter who was fearful and untouchable, to slowly open up to humans when she joined them in the same kennel. Dusty is fearful of the thunder.
