Personality: Meet Éclair, a sweet and spirited dog who has already made great strides in her short time with us. Initially, she displayed some food resource guarding—a natural instinct for a stray needing to protect her meals—but she’s quickly learned to relax. Now, she’s comfortable with her food bowl even when you touch or remove it.

Éclair gets along well with other dogs and is still discovering her boundaries around children. Outdoors, she’s a clean girl who only relieves herself during walks, making her ideal for an owner who enjoys regular outings. She’s still learning basic commands like “”sit”” and “”stay,”” but with time and patience, she’s sure to master them.

One of Éclair’s favorite things is going outside. She’s a joy on the leash, walking right beside her human, making her a perfect companion for someone who enjoys peaceful, well-mannered strolls. However, she’s not particularly motivated by food, which means she responds better to praise and gentle encouragement. When it comes to water, Éclair isn’t a fan—she tends to shy away from the water spray after walks when it’s time to clean her paws.

While Éclair hasn’t had the chance to sleep alone, as she’s been surrounded by other dogs, she has shown a touch of separation anxiety. When left behind for just a moment while other dogs are taken for a walk, she’ll whine and bark briefly before calming down.

Éclair is still discovering her true energy level, which appears to be moderate for now. She might have some pent-up playfulness waiting to emerge as she settles in. She’s had a few minor misadventures indoors, like chewing on her leash, but overall, she’s been very well-behaved.

Éclair needs gentle interaction, and she’s still learning to be comfortable when left alone. She’s in good health as far as we know, and she’s ready for a loving home that will give her the time and care she deserves to reveal her full, wonderful personality.
