Personality:Our rescue dogs come in, often sick, suffering. Nothing makes us more happy than seeing them smile and wag their tails again. However, we have learnt over the years that very often, we do not get to see the happy faces for long.
The luckier dogs get adopted into homes. 250 dogs pass through our shelter a year, they come and go, so fast. Some however, are not so fortunate, like Puppy here. This incredibly sweet boy was sterilised as part of our TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) program. But he recently became unwell, and was found to issues with his kidney. His kidneys have failed, and he does not have long to live, perhaps weeks. His vets do not know for sure.
Everyday, he has to endure being infused with fluids subcutaneously, but he remains a cheerful boy. He loves people, always wagging his tail whenever anyone calls his name or pats him. We do not know how much longer we will get to see his happy, smiling face.
Whether it is a rescue dog, or your own dog, we need to cherish every moment we have with them. They have so much love, but so little time with us. Give your dog a hug when you read this, and please help send Puppy your love, and prayers. We hope he will live his last days with us, happy, contented and loved as much as possible.
