In the last month, SOSD took in 3 litters of puppies from our various TNR sites, and they were kept in our quarantine unit before they were old enough to be vaccinated.
Last Thursday, they were all finally old enough to get their vaccinations, but we might just have been a little too late. A pup had suddenly died that morning, and though she had tested negative for the deadly parvovirus, we kept a vigilant watch over the rest of the puppies.
On Friday, our real nightmare began. The siblings of the dead pup started vomiting and losing their appetite, and were quickly brought to the vet. Over the next few days, the other 2 litters also started displaying signs of the virus, and were also rushed to separate vets for treatment and isolation.
As of today, we have 10 puppies and 2 mother dogs being warded at the vet, while we keep a close watch on the rest of the dogs in shelter, especially in our quarantine unit.
We desperately need your help, so that we can tide through these tough times. Your donation is critical in ensuring the best care for these babies, so that they can pull through, and be able to grow up healthy, and get adopted into loving homes when they recover. Thank you.
