Yesterday, The New Paper featured the plight of shelters in Pasir Ris – having to worry monthly about making ends meet, and now, the uncertainty of the future ahead as the land lease ends.
In the article, the sacrifices of many animal lovers were highlighted – Mary, who sold her home to set up Oasis Second Chance Animal Shelter – OSCAS, Mdm Wong, who spent her life savings to care for the cats and dogs at Mdm Wong’s Shelter and Friends, and SOSD President Dr Siew, who quit his job last year to concentrate on animal welfare in the hope of securing land for the animals who are about to have nowhere to go – unfortunately, a year later, little has changed, and the fate of the animals, still uncertain.
Please share the plight of the animals, and the ones who care for them. We are sure that with greater awareness, change can happen.
