Lady, a friendly girl, displayed separation anxiety at the shelter. She would bark and whine loudly at the shelter, crying for attention. We were so afraid this would hinder her adoption, but with the never-say-die attitude of SOSD rehomers, and her adopters’ patience and efforts, Lady is now doing fantastic at her home, with new owners who absolutely dote on her!

Lady’s success story can only happen because of the hard work of SOSD’s Rehoming Team. The rehomers – a lean network of only about 30 people – speak to potential adopters round the clock, visiting them, and matching them with a suitable dog, day after day, to make sure that all our dogs find their perfect home. With 15 dogs adopted from SOSD a month, the Rehomers are the blood and lifeforce of SOSD. Without the team, SOSD will cease to function.

Ask any Rehomer, and they will tell you that rehoming is a tiring, but fantastically rewarding job. Rehoming represents the end point of SOSD’s work, the happy ending we are all waiting for.

We are recruiting new Rehomers!
