The day has finally come. Today, Pudding and Whiskey make their way to their new home: in New Zealand!
Pudding and Whiskey have come a long way. Both were rehomed at four months old but unfortunately given up and returned to SOSD shelter one year later.
Although rescued separately, they became inseparable, and even drank and ate together. The bond between them was extremely special; and a kind volunteer took on the seemingly impossible task of rehoming them together.
Who would have thought that their story would reach her friend in New Zealand, who lives on a farm and who wishes to adopt the two happy dogs together!
Numerous arrangements, vet checks and fundraising later, the dream is finally a reality. Today, everyone was teary eyed as we said goodbye to the 2. Tears of joy: because we know that they will be going to have a life we all dream of! They will be living on an outdoor recreational centre north of Wellington with Sam, their working farm dog, and some horses. Pics of their new 33 acre home are enough to make us drool!
Fairy tale endings can happen. But their require the undying determination of amazing volunteers, who go the distance. the voluenteer, a kind lady, not only helped rehome them, but also helped with the fees required to transport them to their new home!
Thank you, Sally Doherty, for your amazing gift to the 2 babies. You are an angel to them both!
