Two is company- That’s why Kristen and Carsten knew from the start that they wanted 2 dogs.
After adopting Mike (previously known as Gusto) from SOSD, the couple planned to get their second dog as they are moving to a new place in a year’s time.
Soon, they realised that one year’s wait was longer than expected so Carsten decided to get the second dog earlier. The second dog would be a timely birthday surprise for Kirsten as well.
The couple headed to SOSD’s shelter and River caught their eyes.
“It was love at first sight and we were certain she is the one for us. We decided to bring her home.”
Having a second dog at home is definitely challenging for the couple and more so when the second dog is a puppy. Shy River took some time to bond with Mike.
“The happiest moment was when they shared a sleeping pillow together and started to drink from the same bowl😍. Seeing them play together often bring smiles to our faces.”
Kristen and Carsten’s day start at 530am and they walk their dogs a few times a days.
“When you open your eyes in the morning and you see waging tails, it just brightens up your day. It is simply impossible to be grumpy when you are around happy dogs. It is the same when we come home in the evening, River and Mike will welcome us with joy.
We used to have dogs in Germany too but I have to say that Singapore specials are really special, they are loyal, loving and full of trust.”
River and Mike are happily adopted.
