It has been a difficult week for us at SOSD, and even worse for the puppies who were fighting for their lives. We asked for your help, and are so grateful for the overwhelming support in terms of prayers, donations, and effort to help the puppies survive the Parvovirus outbreak.
We are so happy to share that most of the puppies are looking better with each day that passes. This is only possible with your generous donations, and the amazing vets that we work with. You gave them a fighting chance, and that is the only reason why they are still alive today.
While we continue to battle on with our fight against this deadly virus, we would like to seek fosterers who will be able to look after the puppies when they are ready for discharge, hopefully in time for Christmas. We’d really love for them to be able to regain full recovery in loving homes, rather than return to shelter, and continue to be exposed to various possible diseases while they are still very weak.
As the puppies are still shedding Parvovirus, there are special requirements for a Foster Home:
- Be willing to provide basic necessities for the puppies – a safe, clean and comfortable environment, food, and lots of love.
- Fosterer must not have dogs of their own, nor have any close contact with other dogs 3 weeks after pup is discharged.
- Pups should not be left home alone for more than 4 hours.
- Be able to foster for at least 3 weeks (or ideally, until they’re adopted).
- Work closely with our volunteers, to ensure pup is healthy, and well-behaved, in preparation for getting adopted.
Please write in to us at these links, if you’re able to help the puppies:
