When we first met Jody, she was very shy and she did not dare to approach us unlike most of the other dogs. She would hide and peered at us from far. She is a very sweet-looking little girl, and the way she looked at us is so cute. Honestly I was worried that she may be stressed or home sick when she came over for the home-stay. But my worries were unfounded as she was happily running around the house and checking us out. (So different from the time we first met her). She is now the little princess in the house, loved by everyone. She’s a sweet and curious gal who likes to play and follow us around. She would also sit beside us just to hang out with us. We love her for her character and her funny antics. She is a beautiful gal and we love her just the way she is.
We wanted to adopt another dog after my mother lost her dog of 16 years – a Singapore Special – due to old age. We were feeling sad and lost when my friend who has just adopted a dog from SOSD recommended that I try them and I’m glad I did! Hui Jin, the SOSD volunteer who helped us with the whole adoption process, was very friendly and helpful. She spoke with us to understand our situation before suggesting a few dogs for us to meet. The first dog we saw was Jody, and instantly we knew that she was the one for us. After a home stay, my mum and bro are now the proud owners of Jody, aka BB. I think HDB owners should adopt Singapore Specials, especially the black ones. They are just as sweet and cute as the lighter colored ones.
“Kudos to Hui Jin and all the SOSD volunteers for their time and hard work to help re-home our Singapore Specials and a big thank you for helping us with the adoption!” – Cassandra, Jeff, and their mum, Jody’s adopters
